Your mental health matters. At Guyatt House Care, we support you not just to cope but to move forward, build strength, and find hope in your own time and in your own way. We understand that living with complex mental health needs, including dual diagnoses, self-harm, or thoughts of suicide, can feel overwhelming. That’s why we build care around you; not your diagnosis.
When you come to us, we won’t rush you. We’ll take the time to understand who you are, not just who others say you are. We know that mental health diagnoses can be difficult to make sense of, and you may not always agree with the labels you've been given.
What matters to us is how you feel, what supports your well-being, what triggers distress, and what helps you feel safe and in control. We start with you, your experience, your voice, and your goals.
We specialise in supporting people with ADHD, eating disorders, personality disorder, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, anxiety, schizophrenia or a combination of these. These are the areas where we have built our deepest expertise, and we’ll meet you where you are, without judgment. We also recognise that mental health is complex and doesn’t always fit neatly into categories.
If you’re living with a different or less common condition, or if you’re still trying to understand what your diagnosis means for you, we may still be able to help. Talk to us. We will always explore how we can safely and meaningfully support you based on your individual experience.
You’ll have a consistent team that understands what it means to feel unsafe, unheard, or overwhelmed. We don’t just react when things go wrong, we work proactively to reduce risk, support recovery, and build your confidence. Every support plan is tailored to your specific needs, written with you, and reviewed regularly so it always reflects where you're at and where you're heading.
We create calm, structured environments where you're respected, included, and in control. Our homes are low-arousal, secure spaces that offer routine and predictability because we know that stability is key to recovery. We use trauma-informed practice, recognising the past experiences that may shape how you respond today.
If you self-harm, we won’t shame you. We’ll support you with compassion, working with you to understand the reasons behind it and help you find safer ways to cope. If you experience suicidal thoughts, we won’t turn away we’ll listen, stay with you, and help you navigate through it with care and dignity. You are not alone.
Many of the people we support have experienced harm, neglect, or trauma in their past and we never take that lightly. We are here to help you feel safe again, in an environment where your dignity is protected and your boundaries are respected. Because of this, we do not support people who pose a known risk to others. Your home must be your sanctuary, and we are committed to maintaining it as a safe and stable space for everyone who lives with us.

We are deeply committed to the principles of the Transforming Care agenda. We believe that people with mental health needs deserve to live at the heart of their communities, not on the edge of them. You are not a problem to manage, you are a person to value, and your life belongs in society, not apart from it.
We are a social care organisation not a medical one. That means our focus is on your quality of life, your social network, your independence, your home environment, and your ability to live well day to day. But that doesn’t mean we ignore your medical needs. We work closely with community mental health teams, GPs, psychiatrists, and nurses to make sure any healthcare concerns are recognised, understood, and responded to. We are your bridge not your replacement for clinical services.
We are experienced in working with complex mental health needs and co-occurring conditions including autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, and emotional regulation difficulties. We do not offer support for forensic risk or drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Our focus is on providing stable, supportive environments for people who may otherwise fall through the gaps.
You’ll be involved in decisions about your care every step of the way. We’ll never make plans about you without you. If your needs change, your support changes with you no red tape, no waiting for approval. Just the right response when you need it.
Our Outstanding rating from the Care Quality Commission reflects what we do every day: go beyond the basics to offer care that’s responsive, empowering, and deeply personal. One inspector described our approach by saying, "Staff go above and beyond to ensure people enjoy varied and chosen experiences. They have a deep understanding of people’s needs and provide highly personalised care that consistently promotes well-being and safety." Inspectors recognised that people felt listened to and respected and that staff were highly skilled in managing complex emotional and behavioural needs with warmth and consistency.
We know that recovery doesn’t always move in straight lines. There may be steps forward and steps back but we’ll walk that path with you. We’ll help you find your own rhythm, rebuild confidence, and reconnect with life on your terms. You are not defined by a diagnosis, a behaviour, or a moment of crisis. At Guyatt House Care, we see the whole of who you are, your past, your potential, and the life you want to lead. We are here to help you build stability, make meaningful choices, and feel a sense of belonging and purpose in the world around you.
When you live with us, your home is your own but it also comes with shared responsibility. You’ll be offered either a tenancy or licence agreement that sets out clear rights and expectations. These agreements protect your independence, while also supporting the safety and wellbeing of others living alongside you.
We’ll help you understand and stick to these terms whether that means keeping your space clean, being mindful of noise, or treating communal areas with respect. We want everyone in our homes to feel secure, valued, and proud of where they live.
Community only works when everyone plays a part, and we’ll support you in doing just that. You are a person with a story, and your future matters. We’re here to support you, believe in you, and stand with you for as long as it takes.
