Living with autism doesn't mean settling for less. At Guyatt House Care, we work alongside you to create a life that reflects who you are - your routines, your interests, your voice. We understand that autism is not a condition to be 'managed' but a way of experiencing the world. Everything we do is built around respect, understanding, and empowerment.
From the start, we focus on getting it right for you. We’ll take the time to learn how you like to communicate, what your sensory preferences are, what your routines look like, and how we can reduce anxiety and support independence. If something feels overwhelming or unfamiliar, we’ll slow it down. If something brings you comfort, we’ll make it part of your day.
Our environments are autism-informed - quiet, calm, predictable, and safe. We pay close attention to sensory integration, offering spaces that feel right for you. Whether that’s a dimly lit room, reduced background noise, a predictable layout, or quiet time during transitions, we will always adapt to meet your needs.
We follow national guidance and best practice to help reduce sensory overload and create safe, low-arousal spaces that support your well-being.
Clear, structured communication is at the heart of everything we do. We use tools like visual schedules, now-and-next boards, social stories, or written prompts - whatever works best for you.
Our staff are trained in autism-specific communication approaches and take care to give you time, space, and choice.
Support is shaped around what matters most to you. You might want help managing anxiety, building daily living skills, exploring a new hobby, or finding meaningful ways to connect with other people. You might prefer your own company, or enjoy being in small groups. Either way, we’ll respect your pace and support your preferences, not push you into someone else’s version of 'progress.'
Our team also works closely with your family and professionals who know you well. If you’re working with a speech and language therapist, occupational therapist, psychiatrist or social worker, we’ll make sure your care plan includes their advice and insights. We regularly review support to make sure it continues to feel right for you.
We’re proud to have been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission. Their inspectors saw that people in our services were making choices, feeling safe, and being supported in ways that truly suited them. One inspector said, "Staff had a deep understanding of each person’s needs and went above and beyond to ensure their comfort and dignity were never compromised."
Being autistic doesn’t mean being left out. It doesn’t mean being misunderstood. And it certainly doesn’t mean being underestimated. At Guyatt House Care, you’ll be seen, heard, and supported in ways that are meaningful to you.
We’ll take the time to understand who you are, how you experience the world, and what you need to thrive in it.
Together, we’ll create something that works for you, and with you. Because your voice matters. And your future is yours to shape.
